Jenny's day
I have really enjoyed getting to know each of the children in the shelter. They are a joy to be around. They call all women who care for them, or come to visit them, "mommy". It is wonderful to be greeted by big smiles and "mommy, mommy" every time I see them. Many of the children have been through great trials and abuse before arriving at the shelter. Some have just barely escaped death at the hands of their own parents. I went with Janis today to take a baby for a blood test. He had been found wrapped in plastic and abandoned in a dumpster at just a few weeks old. He was brought to the shelter soon after being discovered. He is now around 8 months old (they aren't sure of his exact age). I got to take him in to get his blood drawn, and he barely even whimpered when they stuck him with the needle. Even though he was unwanted by his mother, God kept telling me over and over how much He loves and wants this precious little boy. Please join with me in prayer that his blood tests will come back satisfactory so that he can be adopted into a loving family.
